Citizens and Your Community Partnership

The San Carlos is heavily involved in the community through its many businesses and services to the community. It has over 25 aviation based businesses. They have helped with the over 130,000 airport "operations". All these businesses over created revenue for the community. 


Among the services they offer are Air-Ambulance, Medivac flights, and law enforcement patrols. This is a vital resource to help those ill to be transported quickly and efficiently to the proper care. It also is a resource for local police department. The airport is a base for the community. The San Mateo County citizens interact with the many offering and businesses regularly even though community participation may not be to direct.

Martin Luther King Jr.

The 15th amendment prohibits and states from denying anyone to vote due to "voting qualification or prerequisite to voting, or standard, practice, or procedure … to deny or abridge the right of any citizen of the United States to vote on account of race or color." This act was put into place so that people of color could not be denied the right to vote from failure from tests such as literacy tests. The country has been able to grow and honor these words more sacredly thanks to many peoples brave efforts to make this country fair to all its citizens.


Today Dr. King is known as key leader and component in the history of the Movement for African Americans and other races. Dr. King was a great leader who helped join together those who saw the shared the same dream he did. He helped to enforce African Americans right to vote. He will forever be remember through his struggles and death all for the sake of the rights of American Citizens.


This country has come a long way since 1965 when the Voting Right Act was put into place. There always going to be those who have different view points and ideas that are against your own, but in the modern world where the communities voice are more heard, I believe that the rights of those to vote are safe. 

Community Partnership

The community partnership I chose was the San Mateo County Airports Administration. The local airport is in San Carlos, it contains 500 aircrafts, with several businesses. The airport grew from a local need by businesses and the town transportation needs. It is a way they can deliver more efficient to have a edge in the business market. They also provide other services for the community like Air-Ambulance, Medivac flights, law enforcement patrols and other emergency services. 


Although these are private facilities who finance everything themselves through their business they are still subject to some federal regulations but they do not have as many as a airport such as SFO. 


I am excited to observe those at work and learn everything I can!!!
