Government influence over Goodwill

The government does play a key role in the running of goodwill. Goodwill offers tax deductions run by the IRS, a government instituted program that could for some reason take away a key aspect in why people may donate clothes. Possibly taking away a chunk of donators will impact the quality and quantity of its merchandise hurting sales, and a ripple effect takes place. Where sales might go down possibly laying off people and cutting the program they offer.

Goodwill educational programs in the job field. All educational programs that provide some sort of degree or certificate even Goodwills education and career building programs must be certified and go through inspection to make sure they are up to the qualifications the government division puts in to place just like the schools we attend must go through to make sure they are up to date and teach its students all they need to know so there graduation means something. In order for your completion certificate or degree to actually be valuable when applying for jobs or trying to go to the next level of education it must be approved by the government if it isn't then it just a piece of paper.

I also believe the government always has a sort of power a business or service. Causing it to have to go through different regulations or polices they must follow if they want to remain in business. Even a McDonalds must follow regulations by the health department and if it does not it will be shut down the government agency.
